|
The first part of the article deals with the historical roots of the concept of the 2nd Industrial Revolution and its use in international research in economic history in the 20th century. In the second part the concept is applied to the character of the development in Danish industry from the middle of the 1890s to 1930. The many new products and production methods indicate that Denmark can be seen almost as a textbook example of the 2nd Industrial Revolution. Lastly, strengths and weaknesses of using this concept are discussed.
