'Mega Civilization - Global Capital and New Standard of Civilization'

In this chapter, i argue that the current globalization is a new phenomenon distinct from classic interdependence. Globalization is a longue durée structural process that started in Europe in the 16th century. The argument leads to the question about the compatibility of the current globalization with multiple civilizations. My argument is that globalization will progressively reduce the number of civilizations and will contribute to the rise of a mega civilization. Parallel to this trend, a new standard of civilization is also taking place. The last part of this study concerns the evolution of the standard of civilization from God's rights to State rights and now to Human rights.
