| Abstract af artikel 9 | ||
|
The article portraits the authorities' view on female prostitution and women of easy virtue in Copenhagen in the inter-war period and post-war period. The surveillance of the authorities, at that time, was not directed towards the established prostitutes but young women who frequented bars, dance halls etc. and got in contact with soldiers and sailors. These young women, who came from different classes, were stamped as women of easy virtue and prostitutes. The authorities considered the behaviour of these young women as a threat against norms and value regarding femininity and married. The authorities view on prostitution reflect an apprehension of a change within the moral codex for young women generally.
